React Development Services
React development services cover the design and build of user interfaces and web applications with React, the component library that powers most modern web products. Webcapitan builds React front ends for marketing websites, customer portals, dashboards and SaaS products, usually together with Next.js for server rendering and a Node.js or PHP back end. Our own website runs on React through Next.js, so the stack we recommend is the one we live with.
React is the right choice when an interface has real interactivity: forms with many steps, filters and configurators, live data, user accounts or anything that behaves like an application rather than a page. For a plain brochure site it is only worth it through Next.js, which turns React into fast, indexable pages. We explain that choice honestly at the start of every project.
What our React development services include
- React web applications. Dashboards, portals, admin panels, booking and ordering flows, internal tools: typed components, state management, routing, forms and authentication.
- React front ends for websites with Next.js: server-rendered or static pages, optimised images and fonts, metadata and structured data for SEO.
- Design systems and component libraries. A documented set of components built from your Figma design, so every new screen is assembled rather than coded from scratch.
- API integration. Connecting React to REST or GraphQL APIs, headless CMSs (Sanity, Strapi, headless WordPress), payment and CRM tools.
- Migration to React. Moving jQuery, Angular, Vue or template-based interfaces to React step by step, without stopping the product.
- Performance and code audits. Fixing slow React apps: bundle size, rendering strategy, memoisation, data fetching, Core Web Vitals.
- Dedicated React developers who join your team for three months or longer, working in your repository and process.
Our React stack
| Area | What we use |
|---|---|
| Framework | React 19 with Next.js (App Router) for websites; Vite for pure single-page apps |
| Language | TypeScript across components, hooks and API clients |
| State and data | React Query or SWR for server data, Zustand or Context for UI state, React Hook Form for forms |
| Styling | CSS Modules, SCSS or Tailwind, matching your design system |
| Testing | Vitest and React Testing Library for components, Playwright for end-to-end flows |
| Back end | Node.js (Express or NestJS), PHP or a headless CMS, depending on the project |
How a React project runs
- Discovery. We review the design, the data sources and the interactions, then send a fixed estimate by screen and feature with a schedule.
- Foundation. Repository, TypeScript setup, design tokens and the core components, deployed to a staging URL in the first week.
- Screens and features. Built in priority order in weekly increments with demos, connected to real APIs as soon as they are available.
- Quality pass. Performance on a mid-range phone, accessibility (keyboard, screen reader, contrast), cross-browser checks, automated tests for the critical flows.
- Launch and handover. Deployment, documentation, a walkthrough for your developers and a warranty period.
What React development costs
A React front end for a marketing website costs $5,000–20,000 and takes three to eight weeks; the interface of a web application costs $20,000–80,000 over two to six months. Hourly work with our team is $30–60, and a dedicated React developer is available from $4,000 a month. Every estimate is fixed and broken down by screen, so you can prioritise before work starts. See what front-end development services include and cost for the full picture.
React or something else?
Choose React when the interface is the product: many states, real-time data, complex forms. Choose Next.js on top of React for any public website, so pages arrive as ready HTML and rank well. Choose WordPress when a marketing team must edit and rearrange pages weekly without a developer, and Vue with Nuxt when your team already works in Vue. We build on all of them and will say which fits; read WordPress vs a custom CMS for the trade-offs.
Why Webcapitan for React development
- React in production on our own domain: webcapitan.com is a Next.js site with a React admin panel that we built and maintain.
- Design and development in one team since 2014, 900+ websites delivered for clients in the UK, EU, US and Australia.
- Typed, tested, documented code that any React developer can continue.
- Performance as a deliverable: green Core Web Vitals on mobile are checked before launch, not promised after.
- Fixed estimates and a staging URL from week one.
